Provides underwriting support and rating assistance to Underwriters, Underwriting Supervisors and Territory Managers. Assists with servicing accounts by obtaining, organizing and compiling information required to process work resolve problems.



1.     Gathers any required underwriting information necessary to evaluate risk acceptability and proper terms and conditions.  Information to include but is not limited to:  Rating information, loss prevention reports, Experian, MVR’s, ISO and other risk-specific reports.

2.     Accurate and timely evaluation of new business, renewals, and endorsements within authority:

a.     Review all new and renewal submissions for completeness and identify any additional information required for underwriting evaluation.


b.    Ordering of any underwriting reports to assist in thorough underwriting analysis (e. g. Experian, loss prevention, MVR’s, ISO risk reports).

 3.     Support Underwriters in the review and preparation of new business, renewals, and endorsements by ensuring that all information required by PST for policy processing is accurate and complete.

 4.     Responds to inquiries and requests from agents, within authority (e. g. ordering of loss runs, endorsements, billing inquiries).  Most correspondence done by email but inbound/outbound phone calls required.


5.     Maintain established quality and timeliness standards.

6.     Provide professional, efficient, and timely service to both internal and external customers.

7.     Clearly and completely document underwriting files with all underwriting and processing information necessary to ensure that all underwriting analysis, risk evaluation, and support activities are reflected and easily understood, utilizing the checklist.

8.     Adhere to delegated authority level and promptly refer any and all items outside of that grant for consideration and approval.

9.     Other duties as required by the business, including but not limited to, accepting and responding to correspondence such as email.  



Extensive knowledge and understanding of rating and processing all lines of commercial insurance; to include CGL, Property, Packages, BOP, Auto, Crime, IM, Umbrella and WC. · Three or more years of insurance experience or other applicable business experience. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Outstanding organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.



Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
