Work independently to obtain and organize data and perform advanced actuarial analysis to support pricing, reserving, and forecasting processes and effectively communicate with business leaders to support data-guided business solutions.


  • Work independently to obtain and organize data from various sources.
  • Perform advanced actuarial analyses, inclusive of advanced analytics and modeling, resulting in suggestions for actions
  • Translate the needs of business leaders into insightful exhibits, analyses, and/or tools.
  • Mentor and train others in the department
  • Lead processes for the department such as Rate Reviews, Financial Close, Modeling Project, Budget, Price Monitoring, etc.
  • Support the quarterly close with loss reserve analyses and financial reporting requirements. 
  • Assist Underwriting in identifying segments with profitable growth potential; identify underperforming segments and propose corrective actions to improve profitability.
  • Provide assistance in the development of rating methodologies concerning both existing and new company products.
  • In all aspects, share the results of the actuarial analysis with non-actuarial peers and executives through effective verbal and written communication and effective exhibits.


  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or any related field.
  • At least five years of Property/Casualty actuarial work, Commercial Lines Pricing experience preferred.
  • ACAS designation
  • Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet software, Excel preferred.
  • Ability to extract and manipulate data in relational databases, SQL preferred.
  • Practical experience using statistical techniques to build predictive models to address underwriting or claim issues.
